Come hear Tom Taylor, Georgia House of Representatives, District 79 (Dunwoody), share his insights on the recent election results, the impact of Georgia reapportionment and the new cities in North Atlanta, and the General Assembly legislative priorities in 2013.

Prior to his election to the House Representative Taylor was one of the original members of the Dunwoody City Council, and was instrumental in the successful startup of the new City of Dunwoody. Tom was a founding board member of the Citizens for Dunwoody, Inc, and served as its Vice President and later President. Tom was a driving force in that organization and provided leadership during many key endeavors including the legislative process and incorporation effort where he set the political strategy. He led multiple initiatives during the planning and implementation process, including serving as Chair of the Police Task Force.

As a businessman Representative Taylor has extensive, hands on business and financial management experience. Beginning his career in the telecom industry with AT&T, Tom transitioned to the defense and military contracting industries in the early 1990’s. In senior management roles with both Rockwell International Tactical Systems, and DynCorp International, Taylor managed a variety of sensitive defense programs with multi-million dollar budgets for both the U.S. government as well as customers worldwide. He is a veteran of the United States Navy, with 21 years of combined active and reserve service. Taylor earned an undergraduate degree from Georgia State University in International Relations and Economics and an MBA in International Business.
