Mark is a Managing Member in the Atlanta office of CapVal – American Business Appraisers, LLC, and a Managing Director of The McLean Group, LLC Investment Bankers.  He has over 35 years of experience in enterprise appraisals and pricing, investment banking, franchising, litigation support and forensics, and holds several appraisal and forensics credentials.   Mark is a member of the American Society of Appraisers, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, the Institute of Business Appraisers, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Vermont and Georgia Societies of CPAs.

In his capacity as a licensed investment banker, Mark has worked on transactions involving businesses in a number of industries, with specialties in franchising capital and the hospitality industry involving transactions priced as high as $135 million.  His M&A activities extend to capital formation, recapitalizations, financial and strategic transactions, ESOPs, various forms of debt.  He holds Series 62, 63, and 79 securities licenses.

Mark has special knowledge in the hospitality industry, having spent 35 years in development, operations, and exit strategy consulting for the hotels, resorts, food and beverage, and leisure time. He assisted Global Hyatt Corporation in its acquisition of US Franchise Systems, Inc., then a public company, and subsequently spent 6 years as its CFO and the head of USFS’ hotel development fund.

Mark is a graduate of the University of Vermont.  He lives in Johns Creek, GA with his wife, Ruthie.
