June Breakfast (6/11) – Legal Update

The law is ever-changing! Join us for our June 11 breakfast meeting when Rupert Barkoff will advise us on the changes over the past twelve months. The changes covered will primarily include judicial developments, but will also touch upon the successful and unsuccessful legislative attempts to enact laws that will directly affect the franchise community as well as any administrative changes.

Rupert BarkoffRupert, a long-time partner in the Atlanta-based Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton law firm and one of the founders of the Southeast Franchise Forum, has been a prominent figure in the franchise legal community for over three decades. Among his accomplishments, he was Chairman of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Franchising for three years; Co-Editor-in-Chief of the book, Fundamentals of Franchising, a primer on franchise law; he has published nearly 250 pieces on franchising, and has recently established the Franchise Law Institute which will study franchise regulation around the world. In 2010, he became the second recipient of the Forum on Franchising’s Lew Rudnick Lifetime Achievement Award for his work for the Forum and franchising in general.
